We influence national, regional and global decision-makers to implement positive change to child protection policies and services, with a specific focus on children being cared for in a safe family environment.
We use our common voices, based on our own diverse contexts and experiences, to reach a common goal.
Advocacy Approach
Through our advocacy, we aim to increase the momentum for change in the countries where we work.
We encourage children and families to participate in our advocacy at every stage and dedicate the resources needed to deliver on this. We believe that making links to other sectors, such as health, education, social protection and justice, will have a greater impact.

Safe and caring families
We want more governments and donors to actively promote the implementation of the international Guidelines for the Alternative Care of Children for the benefit of all children, particularly those aged under 3.
Family strengthening
We want to see models of social protection that are more effective to enable parents and families to care for their children and prevent children leaving home unnecessarily.
Research
Our research is based on our local and national knowledge. We use it to form key policy recommendations and inform our advocacy work.
We develop and implement local solutions to ensure vulnerable children are able to grow up in the caring families they need.
Research approach
Our research provides the evidence needed for our advocacy and technical cooperation work. It informs our work and influences national policies. Our strength lies in our participatory research, in particular in consulting directly with the children and families that we work with.
We explore a range of issues that separate children from their families and the ways to keep families together. This includes our research on family separation, on social protection and on the reintegration of children. Find out more in our Knowledge Centre.
